For 11 years running, Celebrate The Season has brought families and the community together. This year, it returns once again to bring warmth and the fun of the holiday season to the Lowcountry. And while you’re making memories, seeing the lights, and shopping with local vendors, you’ll also be helping your neighbors in need.
Over the past decade, Celebrate The Season has raised more than $1 million for local charities. It’s a local event that benefits people who call Berkeley County home. Celebrate The Season has something for everyone, whether you want to see the lights during the Holiday Lights Driving Tour or shop local at the Holiday Fairs!
The Holiday Lights Driving Tour is presented by Berkeley Electric Cooperative and organized by Santee Cooper. Admission for each vehicle is only $5. So, bring everyone you can (safely, of course!) in your cars, trucks and even church vans. You’ll see beautiful light displays during the Tour, which begins at Santee Cooper’s headquarters. Once you’ve purchased a ticket, you can ride through the Tour multiple times during the same night. Or you can come back several times during the holiday season!
Once you’re finished with the drive, head over to Holiday Fairs at the Moncks Corner Regional Recreational Center, admission is free! The Town of Moncks Corner is responsible for the organization and management of this event.
Holiday Lights Driving Tour will have protocols in place to keep you and your family safe, including plexiglass installations at several ticket booths.
The light show is powered by Santee Cooper’s certified Green Power. All of the electricity used for the event comes from the locally-produced, hometown renewable energy. Santee Cooper even has a Green Power generating facility in Berkeley County.
Celebrate The Season embodies what the Lowcountry is all about. It brings people together in an accessible and affordable way. And while you’re enjoying time with your family and friends, you’ll be helping support those in need. For many Berkeley County nonprofits, this money helps sustain them in the slower giving season after the holidays. That means your dollars will ensure they continue to do important work in our community.
This event wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of sponsors like Berkeley Electric Cooperative, Home Telecom, and Southard Brothers Construction, among others. They are dedicated to the community and help make this event a success.
The Holiday Lights Driving Tour, which takes place from 6 to 9 p.m., begins on Nov. 26 (we like to call it “Light Friday!”) and continues through Dec. 30. The Tour will be closed on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and Christmas Day (Dec. 25). Admission is $5 per vehicle, no matter the size! It begins at 1 Riverwood Drive, Moncks Corner.
Holiday Fairs will be the first three weekends of December and admission is free! The event will take place at 418 E. Main St., Moncks Corner.
